Debbie-Ann Rickman was appointed to the Fulton County Magistrate Court bench on March 20, 2019.
Judge Rickman has dedicated her career to public service. After graduating law school, Judge Rickman moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she served as an Assistant Public Defender for the Atlanta Judicial Circuit, representing indigent individuals charged with serious felonies.
Judge Rickman went on to serve as an Assistant Solicitor-General in DeKalb County where she prosecuted misdemeanor offenses. She was subsequently assigned to the Special Victims Unit where she focused on prosecuting high profile cases and cases involving high risk victims.
In 2017, Judge Rickman was recognized as the DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Prosecuting Attorney of the Year. She has participated in community outreach events and law enforcement training and was a presenter at the 2018 Victim’s Advocate and Prosecutor Family Violence Conference held in Atlanta.
Judge Rickman is a member of the Logan E. Bleckley Inn of Court and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers where she served as Co-Chair for the Public Affairs Committee from 2018-2019.
Judge Rickman earned her Bachelor’s degree with honors from Florida International University and her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Florida.
