Judge Arnett W. Mumford, III is an Atlanta native, and a dedicated community servant. He earned his J.D. from the University Of Miami School Of Law in 2008. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 2004. He received his primary school education from the Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia.
Prior to joining the Fulton County Magistrate Court Bench he ran his own practice; he served as Of Council at Molden & Holley, LLC, and he was an Associate Attorney at Jones and Associates where he specialized in criminal law and civil litigation. During his years of practice, he has represented private individuals, small business, corporations, domestic, and international non-profits.
While in law school, Judge Mumford served as Law Clerk to the National Football League Management Council in New York City, he served as a certified legal intern at the Miami Public Defenders Office, he served as a Law Clerk at Greenberg Trauig in Atlanta, and he served as a judicial intern for The Honorable Victoria Platzer of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida.
Judge Mumford current serves on the Executive Board of the Atlanta Area Council Boy Scouts of America and the Executive Board of the Baltimore Area Boy Scouts of America. He is the current chairman of the membership validation committee, a member of the Peach of an Athlete scholarship selection committee, and a two-time former chairman of the Gathering of Eagles Event. He served as the District Chairman of Southwest Atlanta District Scouting for four years where he helped the district to achieve both bronze and silver recognition in the journey to excellence while ensuring that all the scouts in the district received access to quality scouting. In addition, he served as a Scoutmaster at Troop 100, located at the Best Academy in the Atlanta Public Schools.
Judge Mumford has received several recognitions for his service to the community. He received the District award of Merit, the Whitney M. Young Jr. Service award, and the Silver Beaver Award.
Judge Mumford has also served as the Advisory Board Chairman of the Atlanta chapter of New Leaders Counsel, a national Leadership Organization. Arnett serves on the advisory board of Focal Point Global, an international education nonprofit currently serving children and operating in four countries on two continents. Arnett is a former board member of the Urban League of Greater Atlanta Young Professionals where he served as Parliamentarian.
Judge Mumford is a member of the 2012 New Leaders Atlanta Cohort, the 2014 United Way VIP Cohort, 2015 Leadership Buckhead Cohort, the 2016 Outstanding Atlanta Class, and the 2017 Project Understanding Cohort. Arnett is a current member of the Gate City Bar Association, The Atlanta Bar Association, The Baltimore County Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, and a former member of the Wilkie D. Ferguson Bar Association (Miami Florida).
Judge Mumford is admitted to practice before all state courts in the State of Georgia, the State of Maryland, and the State of Florida; he is also admitted to practice before the Northern District of Georgia Federal Court.
