Judge John De Foor is a native of Atlanta and has served as a judge with the Magistrate Court of Fulton County since 2017. Judge De Foor was formerly a Municipal Court judge, Chair of the Court Security Committee and Member of the Legislative Committee for the Council of Municipal Court Judges. Prior to attending law school, Judge De Foor had the honor of serving the community as a supervising detective for a municipal police department.
Judge De Foor has significant trial experience previously serving as a prosecutor, as well as a criminal defense attorney. During his time in private practice, Judge De Foor has also had the opportunity to represent individuals and corporations in complex civil matters.
Judge De Foor is a certified mediator and a member of the Executive Committee of the State Bar of Georgia’s Fee Arbitration Program. In 2017, Judge De Foor organized a community-based sports and academic organization serving the youth in Atlanta and currently is a Member of its Board of Directors.
